anti-herd mentality: ANOTHER twenty-five

by muchtomychagrin

So I said in my first list of 25 random things, that I have an anti-herd mentality. And when everyone jumped on the ’25 random things about me’ bandwagon, as did I; I thought I’d make things different by doing another twenty-five!

Okay, I admit, maybe this is slightly, just slightly, a filler post. And it’s not very original, too. But let’s face it: I know you want to know more useless crap about me. So here goes!

1. My weakness is M&Ms. Of any kind. It’s horrible, but I can never say no to M&Ms.

2. I have a serious problem with people who speak with rising inflections. This makes me detest the Australian accent that pertains only to making every statement sound like a question. It drives me insane and I have to fight the urge to tell them to speak properly because they sound stupid. Also, it’s makes me so confused because I don’t know when they’re actually asking me something or simply stating a fact.

3. My favourite time of the day is mid-morning.

4. Incidentally, I am NOT a morning person and I have real trouble waking up because I always need a sufficient amount of sleep. (The answer is 9-10 hours)

5. I am a very open, but private person.

6. I’m a swimmer, not a runner. There’s something strangely calming about the tiles.

7. Another girly fact: I cannot watch, read or listen to any type of scary/horror movie, book or music. It will give me nightmares and I am useless when it comes to this.

8. I started playing the piano and learning how to swim when I was five and began Mandarin lessons when I was six.

9. One of my biggest regrets in life was leaving my Macedonian piano professor who believed in me but I vehemently refused to study under her because she was too strict. I think she would’ve been able to make something wonderful out of me had I stayed with her.

10. I still think about her sometimes and the one and only score I can play, up til today, is an 8-page sonata (I don’t even remember the composer). It’s been embedded into my brain; I think at one point I could play that piece with my eyes closed.

11. My mother is my best friend.

12. I admit that when it comes to men, I am very picky. I call it knowing what I want, because I think I am rather specific.

13. I am a major movie crier. Sometimes I cry when I read a really sad book too. I’m ridiculously sensitive, is what I’m saying.

14. Something else I’m proud of: I remember birthdays and anniversaries, names and faces of people very well.

15. My two years in an all-girls boarding school were the best years of my life.

16. Another pet peeve: I get really annoyed sitting next to people with twitches. Especially people who shake their legs or have a really jarring twitch. It’s just so distracting!

17. People who first meet me will be surprised to know that I love camping and hiking and being in the great outdoors, despite being very much an all-round city girl.

18. I have an unexplainable affinity for India and all things Indian: the culture, history, the ARTS!, the food, the people and their beliefs, their colonial history, the massive divide between the rich and the poor, their governmental system, their economy. Yes, I really meant all things Indian.

19. Family is number one on my priority list.

20. My collection of earrings could possibly be considered my most prized possession.

21. I am almost always missing somebody all the time. Right now it’s my cousins in Vancouver and Beijing. Most of the time, it’s them I miss most. If it’s not them, it’s my trans-national friends who are everywhere.

22. I am so not a coffee drinker. I have tried many times before and failed horrendously. I do love the smell though.

23. My knees used to have fifteen scars on them from various falls and accidents which include: rollerblading falls, dog bites and bicycle falls. The scars have faded and now there’s about 7-8 left. There’s only one very prominent scar that probably won’t go away because the wound was so deep, that the whole flap of skin ripped off.

24. I am very easily amused.

25. Five countries I want to visit before I turn thirty (as long as nothing gets in the way): India, Bhutan, Iceland, Chile, Argentina.

Again, not tagging. I think I wrote this post just so I can deviate the mood from this blog – it seems to just be all gloom and doom these days.
